I live on Kauai and work in the fitness center at the Kauai Marriott. I've been in the fitness industry since 1988; teaching classes & personal training.

Marriott recruited me in 1995 to open up their new hotel's fitness center, and I've been there ever since, but I "retired" from fitness instruction, and I am a "desk person" now. I work 4-days a week, still full-time at 32 hours.

My daughter is going to be 23 yrs. old. She graduated from Pacific University in Oregon last May w/ a BS in Biology. But guess what? She changed her mind so many times during the course of her 4 yrs. at college. So now she wants to be a RN.

She's been accepted into the accelerated nursing program at UH Manoa, and starts one class on May 16. So now it'll cost us another $21 grand for this 18-month program, plus her living expenses in Honolulu. Ah, what we do for our kids! Lucky she can stay w/ my mother. My mother (age 81 now) lives on Young St. Remember where the old police station was, with the big banyan tree in the parking lot? That banyan tree is still there, and there are two condo highrises.
My mom lives in one of them.

I also had a 23 yr. old son, who would have been 25 yrs. old last month. He passed away, got in an auto wreck in Utah, at Christmas 2004. Yes, it's the sad part of life that must be dealt with.

Anyway, I'm glad to reconnect w/ you even though we didn't converse much in school. You're right, Oney was a good friend. He was & still is sooooo funny.
He's been a hairdresser for many years now; works at a shop in the Pan Am bldg. on Kapiolani Blvd. Has been Carole Kai's hairdresser for the longest time, and does other local entertainer's coifs. Does the hair for Hawaii Star's & other local events. Didn't mean for this to go on & on...T alk to you again soon!
Aloha from Kauai,
Rosalie
